TASCO SPONSORS MRCA SCOPE SHOOTS

The Military Rifle Clubs Association (MRCA) runs 7 matches every year for telescopic sight equipped rifles, anything from .22 rim fire hunting rifles through vintage or reproduction bolt action military scoped rifles of World War 2 or earlier vintage through to modern “state of the art” varmint / target rifles capable of keeping all their shots in a 7 centimetre circle at 300 metres.

To encourage participation in this style of shoot in clubs which predominantly shoot iron sighted service rifles, the MRCA approached TASCO Australia to sponsor a participation prize. TASCO have been most generous in supplying us with a beautiful Bushnell Elite 3200 series 5 to 15 power target riflescope to be awarded to one lucky shooter for participation in at least four of the seven scope matches over 2005.

In 2005, the lucky winner was Roly Muscat, member of Royal Australian Engineers (CMF) Rifle Club  Roly is a stalwart member of the MRCA who does great gun smithing work for fellow RAE members; he keeps these old Enfields and Mausers shooting by his good work and therefore keeps us all shooting to the potential of these magnificent old rifles.

When presented with the prize by the president of the MRCA, Roy Finney, Roly was overjoyed and said, “I would like to thank TASCO for this fantastic prize for which I will build up a special target rifle.”

Initial enquiries with TASCO Australia indicate that similar sponsorship will be provided again for 2006. It is through this generous sponsorship support that interest and participation in scope matches will grow.

Thankyou to TASCO Australia.
